I have long been a fan of Sara Groves. Honestly I don't listen to a lot of mainstream contemporary Christian music, but I find her lyrics and music to be refreshing. Her songs have both challenged and taught me in different areas of life, pushing me to grow and to ask some very appropriate questions about what God is doing in my life. One song in particular is appropriate for this time of year. I'm not sure how, but the song below summarizes my core beliefs about sabbath, gratitude, and rhythm. I couldn't find a live version (sorry) but I think this will do the trick.
This song, to me, is a photo album of the formissional life.
Enjoy your time with family and/or friends tomorrow, and more importantly realize that gratitude is a lifestyle inspired by the gifting of God and not simply a day on the calendar.
